Introducing SILVERMAN’s Newest Building – Swift & Co.
In 2005, SILVERMAN started the transformation of the Hamilton Park neighborhood into a lively community with friendly neighbors and unique businesses. The opening of Swift & Co. marks the continuation of SILVERMAN’s neighborhood redevelopment, adding new life into what has become one of Jersey City’s most desirable neighborhoods.
SILVERMAN looked to the history of the neighborhood for inspiration with naming. Between 1885 and the 1940’s, stables for the company Swift & Co. occupied the space at 220 Ninth Street. The development of the Swift & Co. brand identity involved extensive research with the help of the Jersey City Library. Their historic maps collection influenced the color palette and typographic style.
Swift & Co., the newest building development from SILVERMAN, is a nine story, mixed-use building, one block from the centerpiece of the historic district’s five acre Hamilton Park. Swift & Co. offers studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, many of which are outfitted with terraces and sweeping views. Apartment features include cove lighting, washer and dryer, walk-in closets and other special touches adding warmth and spaciousness.
The building features retail and office space including Allo, a new coworking concept from Andco.
Neighboring businesses include Chickie’s Italian restaurant, Rumba Cubana, Hamilton Inn, Hamilton Pork, Cangiano’s Marketplace, Madame Claude Wine, Salon10N, Milk Sugar Love, Word Bookstore, Hazel Baby, Hound About Town, Tribeca Pediatrics, Integrative Obstetrics and Newport Pharmacy.
Every element of the architecture at Swift & Co. is thoughtfully designed to craft an exceptionally productive and healthy environment for the community. Inspired by the biophilic approach, Swift & Co. connects residents more closely to nature. Since 1981, SILVERMAN has worked diligently to help Jersey City become a destination…the perfect place to work, live and dream. While driving through the Paulus Hook neighborhood, they spotted a fire-damaged apartment building with a collapsed roof. Following a complete renovation, all fifteen apartments were rented within three weeks by those drawn to the attention to detail and luxurious lifestyle SILVERMAN provides their residents. Since then, SILVERMAN has created over 1,000 residences and over 500,000 square feet of commercial and light industrial space, translating to thousands of jobs and new homes. What started 40 years ago as an architectural vision for Jersey City’s downtown has grown into a deep affection for its diverse, dynamic residents.
