The Impact of Pre-K Programs on Urban Communities

Join The Guarini Institute for Government and Leadership  for the upcoming panel: The Impact of Pre-K Programs on Urban Communities. The discussion will be held Wednesday April 6, 2016 5:30-7:30pm at the McIntyre Conference Center C, Dineen Hall.
The panel will focus on the impact of Pre-K and Head Start programs on children and families in the urban and rural districts across New Jersey.  Recent proposals have called for expanding investment in preschool programs – something that hasn’t occurred since the late 2000’s. The expansion calls for extending funding ($103 million) for the two year program to an additional seventeen districts beyond the Abbott districts.
The Expert Panelists:
Ora Welch, President & CEO, HOPES
Dr. Marcia Lyles, Superintendent, Jersey City Public Schools
Same Crane, Coordinator, Pre-K Our Way
Moderators:
Joseph Doria, Ed.D., Dean of the Caulfield School of Education
Leila Sadeghi, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Guarini Institute
A recent white paper by Joe Doria and Nicole Luongo is available here. For more information please email [email protected] or call 201-761-6049.
